Where the numbers come from

Live exchange quotes for what moves minute-to-minute, on-chain DEX volume from DefiLlama, and a six-hourly snapshot from CoinGecko for everything structural. The live prices lead — the snapshot is the reference the site falls back to.

Between refreshes only price moves. Supply, classification, hashrate and every structural figure come from the six-hourly snapshot; the live overlay replaces the price where a fresh quote passes the checks below.

How a live price is judged

An exchange quote carries no issuer. A ticker match alone would hand one asset's price to every namesake — and there are plenty: two rows answer to FRAX, two to CAP, several to WBTC. Three rules keep the wrong price out:

A shared ticker means one row. Where several listed assets share a symbol, the quote goes to the one whose snapshot price it matches, and the others keep theirs.
Both exchanges are consulted, and the nearer quote wins. Neither source gets priority by arriving first — that is how Mantle once inherited the Mongolian Tugrik's rate from a currency endpoint while Binance was quoting Mantle correctly.
A quote more than 4× from the snapshot is refused and the row keeps a price that is hours old rather than one belonging to a different asset. Refused rows in the ranking are then filled by CoinGecko id, which has no ticker in it.

A halted market is also excluded: a delisted pair keeps quoting its last price forever, so liveness is checked separately from price. Roughly a third of Binance's USDT pairs are dead by that test.

What this costs

Refusing a quote means showing a price up to six hours old. That is the trade the site makes deliberately: stale is a known error, wrong is not.

Figures kept by hand

A few numbers have no usable feed and are curated, updated occasionally, and labelled where they appear: broad money (M2) per currency, Bitcoin locked on layer-2 networks, and the circulating supply of assets no aggregator lists. They are indicative, not authoritative.
