CoinSpectrum is a free crypto analytics platform and portfolio tracker built on one rule: a cryptocurrency is counted only if it has its own blockchain and its own consensus. Every tool below is free, needs no account, and reads the same data the ranking publishes.
Record a holding with + on any row: quantity and what it cost, and the tracker shows its value and profit or loss at live prices. Keep several portfolios and a favourites list beside them. Everything stays in the browser. Open the portfolio.
An account only adds a second home for the same data. It signs in with a Bitcoin Cash seed phrase, a WIF key or WizardConnect from Paytaca, Cashonize or Electron Cash; an email address is optional and only used to send recovery codes. The server stores ciphertext it cannot read. Sign in or create one.
Every coin with its own chain and consensus, ranked by market cap. Tokens, stablecoins and wrapped assets are listed on their own pages and never added to the count, so nothing is counted twice. Open the ranking.
Chains grouped by consensus family, with proof-of-work chains compared by algorithm — hashrate, its share of the algorithm, and what miners are paid a day (SHA-256, for one) — and pages for delegated and nominated proof of stake and CometBFT.
The same chains sorted by what they are for — payments, smart contracts, storage, privacy — and by how their ledger records value.
One page per cryptocurrency: price, supply, launch, consensus and purpose, the markets that trade it, order-book depth where an exchange publishes one, the wallets that hold it, and the posts that discuss it. Every asset.
Centralised exchanges scored on nine published signals, with the exchanges' reserve addresses read on chain rather than taken from an attestation. The exchange ranking.
Decentralised exchanges and swap services filtered three ways: the chain a DEX runs on, the coins it trades as the coins themselves, and the chains whose tokens it lists. Every DEX.
Hardware and software wallets by type, custody, platform and the coins they hold, each with a page that includes its security record. The wallets directory.
Any ranked cryptocurrency into dollars, euros, bitcoin and other currencies, at the same prices the ranking uses, with an embeddable version for other sites. The converter.
The ranking, every asset and every category are published as JSON through a free public API, and market data lists every source the numbers come from and how often each is read. The journal publishes what the data shows, and the methodology sets out every rule behind it.
Yes. The ranking, the portfolio tracker, the filters, the exchange, DEX and wallet directories, the converter and the API are all free, with no paid tier.
No. Holdings and favourites are kept in the browser and work without an account. An account is optional and only adds an encrypted copy that syncs between devices.
No. A synced portfolio is encrypted in the browser before it is sent. The key that unlocks it is itself locked to the seed phrase used to sign in (and, if chosen, to a recovery passphrase); the server stores only ciphertext and holds neither, and the seed phrase never leaves the device.
It counts only native cryptocurrencies, with their own chain and consensus, so wrapped coins, staked derivatives and stablecoins are listed separately instead of being added to the total. Its tools are built around that: filters by consensus, mining algorithm and purpose, on-chain reserve checks for exchanges, and a portfolio that needs no account.
Yes. A free public JSON API publishes the ranking, every asset and every category; the API page documents the endpoints.
