Scrypt is a memory-hard function Litecoin adopted in 2011 to keep mining on ordinary computers; Scrypt ASICs arrived anyway in 2014. Dogecoin has been merge-mined with Litecoin since that year, so one miner's work secures both, and many smaller Scrypt chains accept the same merged work — a chain listed as merge-mined here borrows its security from a parent.
Litecoin is the only chain here with a hashrate a source publishes; the others show a blank rather than a guess. Dogecoin is merge-mined: its blocks are found by miners working a parent chain, so it has no hashrate of its own.

Hashrate is each chain's own work, comparable only within one algorithm. Paid to miners / day is block reward × blocks per day at the protocol's target block time × price — what the network spends on its own security. Block rewards come from WhatToMine, which averages transaction fees in for some chains; where it does not list a chain, the reward is derived from the halving schedule. Blank means no source publishes it.
19 in the CoinSpectrum ranking as of 16 October 2026: Dogecoin (DOGE), Litecoin (LTC), Dingocoin (DINGO), Bellscoin (BELLS), Luckycoin (LKY), Shibacoin (SHIC), Junkcoin (JKC), Goldcoin (GLC), e-Gulden (EFL), PLNcoin (PLNC), Viacoin (VIA), Carboncoin (CARBON) and 7 more. Tokens never count — only chains with their own blockchain and consensus.
Yes. A Scrypt ASIC mines every chain here, and through merge-mining it can mine several at once: Litecoin and Dogecoin are routinely mined together, with the same work counted on both chains.
About $1.4M a day across the chains listed, counting block reward × blocks per day × price on 16 October 2026. Dogecoin accounts for 84.3% of it.
It is the fraction of all the Scrypt work listed here that the chain receives. Machines can switch between these chains freely, so a chain holding a small share can be outmined by anyone who controls more than that share of the algorithm's machines. A large share is the security; a small one is an exposure.
