Atomic swap — true cross-chain trading where a single trade settles across two blockchains (THORChain-style).
Custody note
The protocol holds nothing: a trade routes through code the trader signs, and the tokens never sit in a company's balance. That is not the same as the ASSETS traded being self-custody — a stablecoin issuer can freeze a USDT or USDC balance, and a wrapped coin like WBTC represents Bitcoin held in third-party custody. The venue's custody model does not travel through to the assets on it.
